We met in high school in beginner’s dance class (or as Nash preferred to call it, “Varsity Dance”). Dana was a freshman, Nash was a sophomore, and what started as friendship slowly grew into something more. Time spent in dance class, at school events, hanging out around Chapel Hill, and weekends at Leo’s lake house (thanks, Leo) turned into the foundation of our relationship.

We officially started dating during Dana’s sophomore year, continuing through Nash’s first year at Wake Forest. When Dana left for Vanderbilt, we amicably parted ways. Still, every summer we found ourselves back together—playing tennis, grabbing casual dinners, and generally confusing our parents about what, exactly, our relationship status was. Throughout the school years we kept in touch, always looking forward to the next time we’d see each other.

Enter COVID-19. Both back home for months on end, we (at risk of sounding cliché) fell back in love. From there, we weathered several years of long distance—first Dana in New York City and Nash in San Francisco, then Dana in Durham for medical school. In 2025, Nash moved to Durham, we moved in together, and the “living together trial” went surprisingly well (despite wildly different opinions on how often towels need to be washed). A few months later, while hiking in Switzerland with Dana’s family, Nash proposed.

Choosing Fearrington as our wedding venue felt natural—not only is it close to home, but it’s also where we held the celebration of life for Dana’s sister, Julia, who passed in 2022. Including her in this day was important to us, and Fearrington instantly felt like the right place.

We cannot wait to be married and to celebrate with all of you. We know traveling to weddings is no small feat, and we’re so grateful you’re making the effort to join us.
